Turning knobs and pushing mysterious buttons, it was recorded mostly after hours at a few of the recording studios I was working in. I played most of the instruments on the record, and am pretty darn proud of my drumming skillz! The bonus disc is basically shards of an EP of unused material I recorded at the same time as the Fireproof record, most of which was released in the UK in 2006. The song "Caroline" was recorded in the middle of a UK tour on a stop-over in Manchester. I went into the studio with a few of my friends from The Earlies and they introduced me to brit-folk-psychedelia (aka Flutes!). The "Young Folks" version of the Peter, Bjorn & John classic was a magic moment for me ... I met this charming bluegrass group called the WST Band (We Sorta Tried) at a BBQ in Austin, Texas, and scooped them up to play with me. You can actually see us recording the song in a documentary music video online. The WST Band were all dressed for their gig at a local rodeo just after the session!
