In many places CARE works, women make up traditional songs to convey the positive change happening in their communities. CARE's music project is a fun way to experience the songs and sounds of CARE participants while also supporting our work to fight global poverty. Listen to these inspiring tracks on your iPod or sample them in your own recordings and share them with others. Included in this download bundle are nine high-quality mp3 recordings from Ghana, Togo, Benin, Malawi and more, as well as a new remix by Brooklyn-based recording artists, Javelin, using sounds from South Africa.

VIDA bags were created in 2009 by Katherine Schwarzenegger to raise awareness about maternal mortality around the world. Katherine created the VIDA bag after attending a meeting with her mother, Maria Shriver, where she learned about the overwhelming number of mothers and children who die of pregnancy and birth-related causes around the world. She chose to name the bag VIDA, which means "life" in Spanish, to symbolize that the purchase of each bag would go towards saving the life of both mother and child. These roomy bags, with multiple inside pockets, were hand crafted by survivors of abuse and homeless women in India. The heart logo on the bag represents the mother (big heart) and her baby (little heart).

Leading with Care: How Women Around the World are Inspiring Businesses, Empowering Communities, and Creating Opportunity
In this groundbreaking book, management expert Mary Cantando examines the stories of women in the developing world who, with help from CARE, have capitalized on personal and professional opportunities, contributed to their communities, influenced their physical environment and overcome discrimination on the road to establishing self-sufficiency. Structured around the five principles of CARE's mission statement, the author pairs these women's stories with stories from the lives of successful corporate executive women in the United States to show how women who are worlds apart can draw from each other's experiences for inspiration and learning. Perfect for women entrepreneurs, "Leading with Care" contains practical lessons about building businesses and self-sufficiency, in any economy, in any nation, and illustrates the power of women everywhere to create their own secure future.
